How do I use C2C asset swap?

What this tutorial covers

This guide helps you use DeBox C2C for asset swaps: create listings, sync to the public market, buy others' orders, and recognize common risk prompts.

Scope and prerequisites

  • DeBox is open and you are signed in to an active wallet account.
  • C2C uses smart contracts for asset swaps. It is not the same as group owner escrow / P2P. Do not mix the flows.
  • Only same-chain swaps are supported. NFT-for-NFT swaps are not supported yet.
  • Public market rule: only specified-chain USDT pairs sync to the market (product copy states BSC USDT; dev environments may differ — follow the App).
  • Verify the other party's assets and contract information yourself before swapping.
Security reminder

Anyone can issue or spoof tokens. Swapping into unexpected assets can cause loss. Verify token contract details carefully. The platform charges an escrow fee. DeBox official support will never ask for your recovery phrase, private key, or PIN.

Steps

1. Open C2C

Open the C2C Market or Start swap page (entry may come from Home, group/DM context, or deep links — follow the current App).

Related pages include: Market, Start swap, Market orders, Order details, Swap history.

2. Start a swap

  1. Go to Start swap.
  2. Select Assets I offer (token / NFT / VDBX, etc., based on page tabs) and enter quantity (NFT quantity is usually fixed).
  3. Select Assets the other party offers and enter their quantity.
  4. If public market conditions are met, turn on Sync to public market.
  5. Read the disclaimer, then tap Confirm and start.
  6. If prompted for Asset approval, complete approval on the page before confirming again.
  7. After starting successfully, go to the order page and wait for the other party to pay or proceed.

As the listing party, you may see a waiting prompt while the order is open and can Close trade as needed.

3. Buy on the market

  1. On Market, select a token and open Market orders.
  2. Select an order and tap Buy.
  3. On the confirmation bar, verify amount and wallet balance.
  4. Tap Confirm payment. Complete USDT approval first if required.
  5. After submission, view processing/success prompts on the page, or check Swap history.

You usually cannot buy your own listing.

4. View order status

Common statuses include: listing active, swap successful, trade closed, waiting for swap, trade failed, etc. Follow the order page.

On the counterparty side, when payment is required, you may see buttons such as Confirm payment and swap.

FAQ

How is C2C different from group owner escrow (P2P)?

C2C is primarily smart-contract asset swapping. Group owner escrow is a separate escrow flow (including escrow agents, arbitration, etc.). Entry points, rules, and risk copy differ.

Why can't I see "Sync to public market"?

You usually need to meet product rules (for example, select a specified chain and a USDT public-market pair). If conditions are not met, the toggle does not appear.

What if it says "Only same-chain swaps are supported"?

Ensure both sides' assets are on the same network. For cross-chain, use How do I use the cross-chain bridge?.

Common reasons buy or start fails?

Insufficient balance, incomplete approval, expired/void order, missing contract configuration, etc. Check the page error and retry.

Can I continue if the other party's asset shows "Risk detected"?

You can, but risk prompts require confirming you have verified the information and accept the risk. Stop if you are unsure.
